When designing this building (Central Otago, New Zealand), the designer and owner of the house, the engineer Guy Shallard, he was a need to put the room in an elevated bridge, based on narrow and elongated in the plot , and the ‘harassment’ of the neighboring buildings. Told and done, here is a house with the main (living room and dining room) on a bridge on the first floor, you can enjoy views of the lake and gain privacy.
The bridge structure is resolved by lattice beams present in the image of the house, both inside and outside, which is based on two symmetrical blocks of concrete blocks. The north side has glass between the steel profiles, and the south is lined with cedar boards, under the bridge but nothing has been left as living space outdoors with a barbecue and a large table.
In the floor plans we see that in each of the cubes there is bedrooms and a staircase, but the main one is near the garage, built with elegant triangular section steps bolted to the wall. The other works as a service staircase in the opposite hub, informing the kitchen with barbecue. In total there are three bedrooms, one with ensuite bathroom.
