ber 4407 The Pale Blue Door, the traveling restaurants set design by Tony Hornecker

Blame the economic crisis last year when the set designer Tony Hornecker, who also worked with Kylie Minogue, Stella McCartney and Vogue, he found himself suddenly without an agent and work without having to start again.
But as sometimes happens, a difficult moment came a brilliant idea, which led to new successes Hornecker: starting initially from his studio in the East End, has created a restaurant that seats 25, a set fable set up using only materials waste, a theatrical experience where visitors are involved, complete with a company of drag queen who performs at the dinner.

Building on the success at home, Hornecker in 2010 carried the idea of restaurant around the world, reconstructing every time the environment with what is in place, pieces of furniture and crockery is an enchantment of light from Gypsy influences, bringing with him only his front door, the Pale Blue Door, which gives its name to this unique pop-up restaurant.

18 garage converted into living rooms

Garage of a former warehouse in Utrecht, with the cooperation of the Mint Architects, the Dutch designer Rolf Bruggink has created a comfortable home for two, vaguely reminiscent of the type of loft living.
Two rooms of 30 square meters on two floors have been exploited to the centimeter and made livable, thanks to a clever use of artificial lighting.

A mix of raw materials such as wood, stone and metal, along with the three dominant neutral colors (white, black and gray), give the house a picturesque charm, elegant and restrained, almost minimalist, but also a bit ’suspended in time.
